WI: Spartan victory in the battle of the fetters

In 550 B.C, Sparta was attacking the city of Tegea. The Spartans brought with them farming equipment and the various implements of slavery, so the Tegean's could be put to work immediately after the battle. However, the Spartan's were dealt a crushing defeat and several Spartan POWs ended up as slaves after the battle. One major result of this battle was that the Spartans took steps to improve their military after this humiliating defeat. Another interesting thing to consider is that the Spartans were moving to enslave the people of Arcadia during this time. would a victory result in Sparta being more willing to enslave conquered Greeks? What would the results been if the Spartans won this battle?
