WI: Spain Hires German Experts after World War II

Argentina hired many German experts to help it develop nuclear, aerospace, and armaments technology in the 1940s and 1950s. Could Spain have done something similar, perhaps purchasing German war surplus as well?

Actually Spain did employ some big names in the German aerospace industry. Also it already had strong ties with German defense contractors before the war (It license-built both the Junkers 52, equipped with a homemade copy of the BMW radials, the Messerschmitt 109 and Heinkel 111, though those last two were powered by English Rolls-Royce Merlin engines which 1fter 1945 were easier to get then the original Daimler-Benz engines). however the main difference with Argentina was that Spain was on the European continent, so it could not -like Argentina- invite any Germans that were wanted for war crimes. So it got stuck with the ones that were neither NAZI nor important enough to get an invitation to work in the US. In the end they were left with a number of mid-level technocrats that mostly were passing time rather then hiding out until the economic rather ten political situation in Germany would allow them to return. For aircraft engineers that would typically be 1955, the year in which the allied ban on commercial flying and aircraft manufacture was lifted.
