Hi all,

This is my first post on here, I hope I've got the right board and correct protocol.

My question is this. What if Spain joined the Axis after the fall of France, say September 1940. The view taken would be that the Allies are doomed, there's no threat to their northern boarder and they could potentially gain Gibralter along with perhaps one or two French North African colonies. We know that the Vichy French government was in no position to defend its colonies when it came under preasure, (Indo China was handed to the Japaneese).

Does Spain gain Gibralter, if so, what impact will this have on the war in the Med, are the British able to fight an effective naval campaign there without the holding the keys to the gate, (Gib), will it therefore hand most of the Med to the Italians, will the North Africa campaign go badly for the British. What will be the overall effect on the Axis war of a different southern flank and the addition of Spain on their side?

Hope this is of interest.

Thanks
