WI: Soviets took Greece at end of WWII

What if the Soviets had gone against the wishes of the allies and taken Greece in their Westward expansion and taking of so many satellite states during the end of WWII? How would the taking of a major port country along the Mediterranean Sea have affected the Cold War? How would the Allies have reacted?

Possibly the Hungarian Revolution gets Western backing. Possibly also the Chinese communists face greater resistance.

The West would fight for it. The Soviets weren't stupid enough to want WWIII when the US was the only power with ABombs.

OTOH, if the Greek communists won power, and INVITED the Soviets in, that might do it. But I doubt the Red Army would try move in unless the local communists had control of much of the country.

Well the ELAS was already active in the late war years and germans pretty much evacuated Greece, if uncle joe rolled into Greece what can the WEst do to stop him ?
