WI: Soviets don't buy British.

In OTL the Soviet's couldn't develop their own jet engine design in time to build the MiG-15. Instead in 1946 Stalin sent a delegation to England to negotiate the sale of the Rolls-Royce RB41 (Nene) jet engine from fellow traveler Stafford Cripps. The Soviets were amazed that the Brits actually sold them the plans and license to make the jets in the USSR and supplied ready made engines to them as well.

WI Cripps had a change of heart or was ordered not to sell to the Soviets? What effect on Soviet fighter design and developement would that have caused? Would there have been a Korean War without Soviet supplied jets to fight the Americans?

The Director of Aero Engine Research and development at the time said it would have the Soviets 5 years in development time.

One interesting development would be what effect it would have had on the Avro Jetliner which finally flew about two weeks after the Comet, this was supposed to have been powered by two Avons but apparently the embarrassment of supplying the Soviets led to this being refused and the design had to make do with four Derwents which increased maintenance costs and made Trans Canada Airlines pull out of the project.
