I've been mucking about with a game called CMANO, and as part of that, I've wound up researching into various aircraft carriers. I stumbled onto the page for the Graf Zeppelin, and while I knew it never saw combat, I was amazed that it had been refloated by the Soviet Union only to then be sunk in weapons tests years later.

Now I've gathered that the Soviet Union never seriously pursued naval aviation, since it did not really align with their overall doctrine.

My question is - what if, instead of scuttling it, the Soviet Union reactivated Graf Zeppelin and used it as the starting point for a naval-aviation based doctrine? Would such a thing even be feasible?
