WI: Someone else wrote the Declaration of Independence

On this, the 235 anniversary of the American Declaration of Independence, I ask what if someone other then Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence. Who else may have been chosen to write the Declaration? Who else among the Committee of Five could have written a document nearly as well as Jefferson: Roger Sherman, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, or Robert Livingston?

I'd say Ben Franklin writing the declaration of Independence interesting. He was less of a politician, and more of a practical genius, who happened to use his wit in an extraordinary circumstance. The Document would probably outline much the same things as Jefferson's, except with a bit more drawn out. Higlighted would be the rights of the government over the state, rather than Jefferson's Republicanist view.

In all honesty, after watching '1776', I can't think of anyone but Jeffy writing the DoI.:D

I imagine the question is less a matter of how well and more a matter of how.

Both of the two men I know (Franklin, Adams) well enough to comment on were perfectly capable of expressing things in writing.

But the wording would probably be different. Jefferson was a fine writer, and I'm not trying to slight him here - but its not as if it was his sole and exclusive work with no imput from the others, so it being Franklin's handwriting wouldn't necessarily be that different.
