I have read here that the hungarian conquest and the wars it brough were a waste for the Ottomans, but I was wondering if the Empire could have benefited of the expantion of the Bosnian Eyalet (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bosnia_Eyalet#/media/File:Bosnia_Eyalet,_Central_europe_1683.png) and the annexation of the Eyalet of Temesvar (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temeşvar_Eyalet#/media/File:Eyalet_of_temesvar1699.png), roughly this: (https://imgur.com/fSAq0Tl). (Yeah, I am new to paint and used a EU4 map).
My question is if the Ottomans just prop up non Habsburg claimants on most of Hungary (if protestant even better) and limite their expantion there could they keep these borders long term? Could they benefite from it in terms of economy and strategic deep? Could they get a relevant % of islamic population in those territories? Maybe more in territories that in otl were border provinces like Belgrade?
Also I was wondering if the totality of ottoman balkan territories were surrender by christian buffer states ("Dar al-'Ahd"), wouls that change the perception of ottoman threat in Europe? Could this be viable long term? Would be better for the ottomans to just let Hungary have some of those christian northern territories territories? Consider that in the eu4 map I posted before, the OE constrols most of the danubian and the allied/vassal hungary still could expand into Habsburg Hungary tough a divided hungary, specially if religiouly and politically different could be really interesting.
