WI: Slovenia-Croatia after WWI, with Kaikavian Croatian and Greater Serbia

After WWI and Serbian troops taking Croatia and Slovenia, both Peter I and Alexander I are accepting idea of smaller territorial gains proposed by Prime Minister Nikola Pašić . Serbs annex whole Bosnia, parts of Slavonia inhabited with Serbs and greater part f Dalmatia.
Serbs also gave Croatians ultimatum: either they want to be incorporated fully into Serb state, or just forget about lost territories, where dialect of Croatian (Shtokavian) similar to Serbian is spoken and to create a state with Slovenians.

Slovenian Croatians create new standard of Croatian based on Kaikavian and similar to it Slovenian dialects.

Italy would object to such large Serbian gains, and could promote resistance to Serbian rule. The only dialect of Croatian which has good mutual intelligibility with Serbian is Shtokavian. Chakavian is full of Romance vocabulary and wholly different than Standard Serbian which existed after the reforms of Vuk Karadžić. The autocratic rule of King Alexander would create problems in any scenario where many non-Serbs are in this large despotic monarchy.
Slovenes had a strong national identity, and were not likely to join Croats, either.

And I am writing about Kaikavian, not Chakavian.

They tried to build one state with Croats. Kaikavian speaking , Roman Catolic Croats are closer than Ortodox Serbs.

Yes, but Chakavian-speaking areas would not really be integrated easily into Greater Serbia.
Kaikavian dialect is sort of similar to Slovenian, but there are also differences (the big one is the dual grammatical number). And the political will of Slovenes to unite with Croats is lacking.

So, if The Entente just give the Chaikavian speaking coast part Dalmatia to Italy, (a little change from Treaty of London 1915) It could be even beneficial to the peace in Balkans and Mediterranean. Could it even butterfly the fascist?

Dalmatia would be partition between Italy and Serbia on the base of spoken language. (Chakavian vs Shtokavian).
