He was populist and authoritarian so his República Nova could develop into a Estado Novo analogue.
But he was killed when his regime was still in the cradle and I find it hard to predict how would his political thought evolve. We can hardly qualify him as a proto-fascist but - given his authoritarian character - outside influences could inspire him later on.
