WI: Shots fired between British and Russian troops in Pristina?

If anyone stopped British troops firing on Russian ones it was General Sir Mike Jackson, then commander of the ARRC. When given the order by Clark to remove the Russians from Pristina airport he is reputed to have said that he 'wasn't going to start WW3' for Clark and refused.

Even if James Blunt prevented the destruction of human civilization, I'm not sure that makes up for the horrible music he has inflicted on the world.

Why does the article keep referring to 'Col. Clark'?

Diplomatic mess, compensation for the families of the lost Russians, possible trial of some personnel involved. Clark's liable to be cashiered over the incident, and the bit of buzz he got as a possible Democratic presidential candidate back in '04 wouldn't happen ITTL.

That was my thinking too. I really couldn't see a major conflict occurring because of this incident, but it was a tense situation.
