It would probably get butterflied as much as anything else. If it doesn't it'll probably be different in so many ways, it would almost be unrecognizable.

True, this TL's HOTD may not be a light-gun shooter but could be a third-person survival horror in par with Resident Evil and Silent Hill.

I wonder how The House of the Dead will look like in this alternate gaming scenario.

Depends how much influence Miyamoto ended up having with arcades team but the people making it might be butterfly away,

I dout that survival horror, that game was made using virtua cop engine, meaning that is not possible that way

This means the Virtua Cop, Maze of the Kings, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, and Golden Gun won't exist as well. I mean Konami would likely produce TLW as it did with Jurassic Park III in 2001 OTL.

So light gun games would be dominated by NAMCO and Konami? This means that Evil Night may take The House of the Dead's place in this TL since Evil Night was overshadowed by The House of the Dead.

Digging this old piece up and before we start talking 16-bit, any concerns you guys wanna discuss in terms of TTL's 8-bit line? I'm gonna butterfly away Kid Icarus and leave Metal Gear and TMNT to Nintendo, but Castlevania and Ghosts and Goblins will be heading over to SEGA.

Wouldn't it make sense for Metal Gear and Castlevania to be on the same console instead of one?

Konami is..weird at times, like goemon being a n64 exclusive
True, but during OTL's NES's height, Konami's biggest console hits (particularly Metal Gear, Castlevania and Contra) were available only on the NES (Atleast I believe that's the case), so if one game were to be exclusive on one console, wouldn't the same be said for the others?

Yeah but mostly as Mark III was a non factor in japan ( msx outsold it) here things goes different , they would be multiplatform here
