WI: SEGA winning the Console Wars in the 1990s against nintendo?

Hello There. I was bored while i was waiting for someone else to make their own timeline that is not taken yet, but i wonder what would happened if SEGA won the console war with Nintendo instead of Nintendo won the console war with SEGA?

if so, give me a timeline where SEGA is winning the Console war with Nintendo but They are gonna beat Sony (which It does have PlayStation) with their SEGA Saturn.

and Sega dreamcast comes out in 2000 instead of 1999, anyone but Nintendo's gamecube still comes out in 2001 later.

Anything more ideas?

Wouldn't it boil down to Saturn being a success? IIRC, it was a mess for developers (or I may be getting confused with some other console), so if that can be fixed, it means more games and more sales.
OTOH, a different approach could include a successful partnership between Nintendo and Sony. While that means a stronger Nintendo, it also means there is no Playstation

If you want Sega to win, SoA needs to be in charge or massive sweeping changes in SoJ. It really doesn't matter what other POD you muster given how incompetent Sega of Japan was in the early and mid 1990s.

Edit: SoA could have partnered with either SGI or Sony (or possibly both, with some work), SoJ stopped them both times. Facing Sony plus the terribly designed Saturn plus even Nintendo is just too much for far far smaller/weaker Sega.

If I remember correctly, the Saturn was difficult for developers to make games for compared to the PlayStation.

This meant that developers preferred Sony and the PS ended up having a better selection of games and became more popular.

So the Saturn's hardware would have to be different than OTL in this respect.

Also, Sega had released their failed Sega CD and 32X over the last few years beforehand. This undermined confidence in Sega and the Saturn and Dreamcast.

So you would need a POD to go back to 1991 or whenever to prevent these disasters from happening.
