WI: Scandinavia was united during the Viking period?

What if some Norse warlord with the military genius of Attila, Temujin, or Alexander united most of Scandinavia during the rise of the Vikings in the 9th and 10th centuries?

Even if his realm is split among his sons, would Viking raids be larger in number during this era?

I am afraid that wouldn't have been raids, that would have been something closer to full blown conquests.

And probably best case scenario ('worst case' for the conquered, I guess) that would be something in-between the realms of Attila and Temujin.

It actually happened as Canute ruled England, Denmark, Norway and parts of Sweden but only for a few years.

The ATL below is a bid on what could have happened if Canute had a dynasty follow him. It does include England however (and later much more) as I concluded that in the long run there wouldn't be room for both an English and a Scandinavian empire. They would bleed pale fighting each other - so if you can't beat them - join them!

I'm rather short on time (work, the curse of any good hobby) so the ATL is taking a pause right now, but will return. I have the general outline until about 1950.

You actually have scholars who argue that kings like Godfrey who died 810 had some serious backing much beyond Denmark as we know it and at least one who argue that the major parts of Scandinavia i.e. Southern Norway, Sweden and Denmark were united around 700 when Charlemagne was a serious threat during the Saxon wars.
