Hello folks,
The Voulet Chanoine mission was a turn of the century colonial expedition around Tchad.
Its leaders became somewhat mad and tore a bloody trail through the land. They were eventually presumably killed by their soldiers, after they killed other French expeditions sent to stop them.
But what if they weren't killed and managed to solidify their hold on the land? Could they have created a land kingdom headed by those two renegade officers?
Similar examples exist: Sarawak, Counani, the Sedang Kingdom...
