WI: Saddam Hussein wins the Iran-Iraq War

USSR arms Iran in time for round 2 in exchange for a free hand in Afghanistan.

Iran is probably in no shape for round two and the Persian population in the areas taken will probably be liquidated.

Saddam likely gets victory disease and starts looking at Kuwait and Jordan with hungry eyes.

Saddam wanted to restore the Pahlavi destiny if he won, despite the exiled shah's opposition. A friendly Iran would help the us.

What if Saddam Hussein won the Iran-Iraq War, seizing Kuzestan, the Shatt-al-Arab waterways and Iranian oil?

In order to do that, he'd have to have a more proficient military, preferably from the start. I suppose Cairo's generals could've scripted Iraqi operations sooner than they are thought to have done so historically.
