WI: Russia breaks into Hungary during WW?

For a time during the early months of WWI Russia was poised to enter the flat Hungarian plain. Having taken most if not all of the Carpathian Mountain passes and having the Austro-Hungarians on the retreat, Hungary seemed destined to be invaded. In my view it was probably the timely intervention by German troops that saved Hungary. However lets say the troops are delayed a few weeks somehow and the Russians break onto the Hungarian plains? Is that game over for Austria-Hungary? Or could Germany and the Dual Monarchy still salvage the situation?

Put simple :
YES

Even in OTL when reaching the carpathian passes the russians were already on their very VERY last leg of supply - in men as well as ammo as well as ... about everyhting.
Not to forget the very VERY last leg of logistical coverage.

Whatever russian troops might enter the hungarian plains would have been in almost no time cut off from everything, facing very hard fights with no supply, very likely facing rather quick capture ... at best.
Thereby also depriving the russian southwest front as a whole of important troops.
