WI: Roosevelt lives longer?

I've heard that, because of the absolute state he was in medically, he was going to resign once the war was completely over.

I have also read that he wanted to resign in order to serve as the first Secretary-General of the United Nations.

There's good reason to doubt that Roosevelt intended to resign after the war: Truman was kept in the dark about sensitive matters, as befitting the Vice President in those days. If he really intended to resign, Truman would have been brought up to speed on as many things as possible.

FDR seemed to be under the belief that by letting Stalin get whatever he wanted, he could avoid relations turning frosty. Personally, I think that's one of the most stupid decesions in political hstory.

Because of FDR's death without serving his entire fourth term his VP took the blame for Communism spreading across the world.

I agree FDR gave away too much to the Soviets and had he survived probably would have given away even more to appease Stalin.

Why would he have given more? There seems to be the assumption that FDR had infinite confidence in Stalin and nothing he did would diminish that.

It also should probably be asked how much what he "gave away" could have been done differently.

Or would have been profitable to do differently, for that matter.
