WI Roosevelt had won in 1912?

Teddy Roosevelt was the most successful third party Presidential candidate in U.S. history, with his Progressive "Bull Moose" Party beating the GOP candidate William Howard Taft, though he lost to Woodrow Wilson in 1912.

But what if Roosevelt had won? Say Wilson had a stroke and died or was unable to run and the the progressives had the White House? Europe would have certainly gone down the same road into WWI, but what would have been Roosevelt's reaction? He was gun-ho for war with Spain in 1898 so would the doughboys been "Over There" in time for the Christmas Truce?

Thoughts?

Well, the President can't unilaterally declare war (and back in those days, that meant something, unlike today, when Congress has basically abrograted their responsibility in such matters), so it is unlikely the USA will be involved as early as the end of 1914. But I can definitely see TR steering the USA into war after the Lusitania incident. So you could have significant US forces on the Western front by the end of 1916, and the war is over in 1917.
