WI: Ron Goldman is not killed

What if either Nicole Brown Simpson had not left her sunglasses at the restaurant where Ron Goldman worked at or if Ron Goldman had arrived at Nicole's house after she was murdered? what impact would this have on the OJ Simpson Trial?

Nicole didn't leave her glasses at the restaurant.

Yeah, they were her mother's. But to the point, if he never had to go to her house, or arrived after her death, there wouldn't be any difference - just one death OJ's accused of, not two.

Now, if we were talking about Ron and/or Nicole surviving, that'd be a major divergence. One of them would be able to identify their attacker, thus settling once and for all if it was OJ.

Well, you'd have one less set of blood/DNA in his Bronco, so maybe the prosecution relies less on the physical evidence, which would still be overwhelming.

I don't know if there is evidence to suggest that the murder of Nicole was premeditated. It could've been done out of rage and passion which occurred spontaneously because Nicole was simply perceived being romantically involved with a younger man at a time by OJ, in this case Goldman.

OJ was probably there already spying or stalking her at night which he was alleged to do before in her journal and in conversations with friends. Some say he wanted to slash her tires and brought a knife for that reason. Given he had broken up with his girlfriend Barbierie that day and Nicole ignored him prior at the dance recital he could've done this out of spite and bitterness only to find the two later on.

OJ wore gloves. I think that is evidence of premeditation.

Some day, maybe, we'll find out from OJ what actually happened. He strikes me as the sorta guy who would want to have the final say on it all - but only so long as it was after he was dead and thus would bear no further consequences for it.

He could also go on the rest of his life never admitting to anything even though he is clearly guilty. Hopefully the Brown and Goldman family's can collect on any assets he has left through the civil judgement after his death.

Nope. The families already got everything they could out of OJ. They achieved that long ago. OJ is still a multi-millionaire and will remain so until he dies - unless he does something stupid again to get himself in front of another prosecutor.

As to admitting anything, that's what I meant about not bearing any further consequences. I could see the guy having set up documents that would only be released upon his death. This, to ensure that he got the last word.

And in answer to the OP, no dead Goldman just means one less family's civil judgement rendered against OJ.
