WI:Roger Moore is replaced with a certain younger actor..

Yes, this is another James Bond WI thread-and i'll never stop until i think i lost my ideas.

So..

It was said that a certain British actor was going to be replacing Connery, before he declined that offer as he felt that he was too young. Then, there was words that he was approached again to replace the aging Roger Moore, and A View To A Kill is predicted to be the actor's first debut, before he eventually became Bond after Moore's exit.

Now.

Lets assume that this actor agrees to the offer, would A View To A Kill, one of the worst Bond movies (Remember, Max Zorin, May Day, and Duran Duran's theme is the only good things from this movie) ever, would be any better, assuming this actor would do the same approach like he do on his movies OTL?

What will happen to the franchise afterwards? It was said that the shock that the audience get due to the transition from Moore to this actor (Due to their different approach) is one of the leading factors of Remington Steele's potrayal of Bond being somewhat a mix between Moore's playboyness, and this certain actors's brutality.

Wasn't it Octopussy where Timothy Dalton was nearly cast for a second time, not A View to a Kill?

Octopussy is still kinda silly in places but nowhere near as bad as A View to a Kill – and they would've changed some things around to make sure their new lead actor made the best impression he could (for example, they were strongly considering changing the title to The Property of a Lady if they recast Bond; I'd bet they'd get rid of the clown-suit bit too). And then A View to a Kill would be butterflied away as they try to play to Dalton's strengths.

I think Dalton is actually approached numerous of times, as he said that on 1979-1980 saw multiple attempts, even after Octopussy, i saw it somewhere on a Bond fanbase forum. (MI6 commander if i'm not mistaken..)

to be honest
even Roger Moore did not consider this to be a real 007 movie!
he carry "A View To A Kill" together with Patrick Macnee until his role of Sir Godfrey Tibbett was killed.
that Weak and unbalanced script of "A View To A Kill" would be disastrous for Timothy Dalton as Bond and entire Bond series
Critical it would repeat of "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" were critics clobber down George Lazenby performance and Script
even MGM could reconsider financing of the Bond series with reasoning "hey Spy movies are debilitated"

Back to "A View To A Kill" it need much better Script !
also David Bowie or Sting or Rutger Hauer! would be much better Zorin, sorry Christopher Walken you bad, but not really bad enough for a Bond Villain...
According german Wikipedia the early Script of "A View To A Kill" envision Zorin plan to drop the Halley Comet on Silicon valley.
Albert R. Broccoli, Michael G. Wilson consider this plot was not believable.

Uh...what........

I know those were considered, but dear lord jesus, you do know what happened when those two were a actor, right? Sting sucked, while Bowie are better on the sidelines as a director...

OTL David Bowie had sign contract for Movie "Labyrinth" and Sting for movie "Dune" prior to "View to a Kill" production.
