In September 11, 2001, Rod Roddy however attends tapings of The Price is Right, but he continues to announce until 2007, when he joined forces with John Ricci, Jr. for JRJ Games.

But in 2003, he attend the Price is Right $1,000,000 Spetacular. He also attended a taping of the second Hollywood Squares "Game Show Week" in 2003.

While because Rod Roddy started going on vacation the next year, many announcers filled in. These include 1985 tryout announcer Bob Hilton, former Whammy!: The All New Press Your Luck announcer Gary Kroeger and his close friend Randy West.

In 2007, when Drew Carey took over the hosting duties of The Price is Right, Rod Roddy left the show to work with John Ricci Jr. to develop new projects for JRJ Games and Slingo Productions. Among Rod's offers with John Ricci Jr. are the unsold pilot "Letters to Letters" in 2009. Ricci initially pitched Letters to Letters to CBS, but the network however turned down for "Let's Make a Deal".

In 2010, following the death of Charlie O'Donnell, Rod was selected to replace Charlie as announcer on Wheel of Fortune. However, Harry Friedman wanted to like Rod and became announcer beginning in 2011. While Rod continues working with John Ricci Jr. and Wheel of Fortune, he filled in for George Gray on the April 1, 2015 episode of The Price is Right. As of today, Rod Roddy was lived at the age of 79, and he was doing Wheel of Fortune as announcer.
