WI: Robert Kardashian was crowned "King Robert of Armenia"

Why Kardashian? Was his family any important in Armenia? And was there even any monarchist movement in the country in early 1990's? This not make any sense if then this is not meant to be in ASB Forum.

I got the idea in my "Michael Jackson father's Elvis's grandchild" thread

I am beyond confused by this. But anything that butterflies away Kim Kardashian and her evil brood, or localizes them to a much smaller country is aces by me. I mean, poor Armenia, but maybe they'll have a better chance to stop the evil in their TL than we did in OTL.

He was a nobody in 1991 wasn’t he? Can’t understand how they are not nobodies now. Famous for being famous? Only in America.

This royal family would be something for the Yellow Press...

I bit doubt that. Perhaps in Caucasus but not much further. In Central or North Europe many wouldn't know about them much if anything. Royal families beside British one not tend be very familiar further than in their neighbor countries and former colonies of monarchies.

Well I think we'd all be interested in the succession war between Kim and Rob. At the time, I think Ray J was with her so unfortunately the Kanye/Blac Chyna stuff would not come into play.

Folks, those of you who are reporting this as ASB, please stop. It isn't ASB, it is simply VERY poorly written and ill conceived.

There IS a difference.

I checked Wikipedia and it tells me that, in theory, there are at least 2 people who can lay claim to the Armenian throne:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Armenian_kings
The Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia was a state formed in the Middle Ages by Armenian refugees, who were fleeing the Seljuk invasion of Armenia.[2] It was initially founded by the Rubenian dynasty, an offshoot of the larger Bagratid family that at various times held the thrones of Armenia and Georgia. While the Rubenian rulers were initially regional princes, their close ties with the Western world after the First Crusade saw the principality recognised as a kingdom under Leo I by the Holy Roman Empire in 1198.[3]...
...
Potential claimants today

The title passed to the branch of the Lusignans in Constantinople and eventually Russia.[21] The title is contested by the House of Savoy and the House of Brienne via Hugh, Count of Brienne and John of Brienne.
Honestly, the idea of a post-1991 Monarchist Armenia is an interesting concept from an AH standpoint. Maybe not the most likely outcome, but hey, if we have threads like “WI: monarchy restored in Russia/Bulgaria/Albania/etc. in the 1990s?” than why should Armenia be left out? ;)
