WI: Rin Tin Tin Wins Best Actor

I'm sure we've all heard how Rin Tin Tin was the actual winner of the first Academy Award for Best Actor, but it was given to Emil Jannings out of fear of the newly invented Oscars seeming ridiculous. This is in fact a myth...but let's say that Rinty did manage to win it. What would be the fallout?

Potential precedent for Gollum winning in 2003.
This presumes that there will BE Oscars 94 years later, and that they will mean something; it's entirely possible that a dog winning the first Best Actor may, as the myth suggests was feared, that the Oscars will be considered a farce and never catch on.

Heck, it presupposes 94 years worth of butterflies would lead to Lord of the Rings even being written in the first place.

Well, I figured that would go without saying. But I am mostly wondering how it would affect the Oscars, and the perception of animal "actors".

Would it be more acceptable if the award wasn't just to him but the trainer as well?

But then the question comes up do human acting coaches deserve to be included in their actor/actresses award too?

If you stretch the premise a little, then you could get an Oscar for Gromit. He's far more expressive than half the idiots that get the award these days!
