WI Richard Lawrence succeeded?

The first assassination attempt on a president had nearly been an assassination. President Andrew Jackson was walking down a road when Richard Lawrence, a painter, decided to step behind him and pointed a gun at Jackson's back. He misfired, and when he took out his second gun, it also misfired. He was then beaten down by Andrew Jackson.

Now, what are the effects of Andrew Jackson being the first president assassinated? How will the presidency of Martin Van Buren go a few years earlier?

What happened that day had a 1/125,000 chance of happening. When the Smithsonian tested the guns in 1940, they both fired on the first shot.

Anyway, I've seen a few active timelines on this subject.
