WI Reccared King of Visigoths is forced to accept ERE as his liege in 599 AD?

During the rule of Reccared the Byzantines again took the offensive and probably even regained or gained ground. Reccared recognised the legitimacy of the Byzantine frontier according to the treaty between Athanagild and Justinian I (assuming that the text of the treaty would limit Roman possessions only to the old Baetica province) and wrote to Pope Gregory requesting a copy be sent from the Emperor Maurice. Gregory simply replied that the text of the treaty had been lost in a fire during Justinian's reign and warned Reccared that he would not want it found because it would have probably granted the Byzantines more territory than they actually then possessed (August 599). Leovigild's gains against the Roman government were greater than the Roman reconquests of Reccared's reign. The Byzantine province of Spania was in decline.
WI the copies of the treaty wasnt lost and Reccared's plan backfired and made him a vassal of Emperor Maurice along with the whole Visigothic Kingdom? How is this altering History? Any thoughts?

If the treaty is found and Reccared became a vassal of Emperor Maurice could the Byzantines hold Hispania under their rule?

King Recarred

I admit that my knowledge of Visigothic Spain is limited. But given the distance of it from Constantinople and the severity of the Persian invasion by Chosroes II, it is not likely the Byzantine possessions in southern Spain could have been held for long.

Maybe Reccared as a Byzantine vassal could dispatch some troops to the Emperor if Persian became too troublesome... (Persians in Emperor Maurice time were not disturbing Byzantium since Chosroes II was indebted to him for his help in reclaiming his throne against the usurper Bahram VI)
