WI: Rasputin survives

i was just writing up rasputin's role in my ATL* and i was wondering what everyone thinks would realistically happen if rasputin really did survive his assassination (my ATL is ASB)

*in my ATL, rasputin survives his OTL assassination in 1916 but is killed by lenin's fighters during the october revolution less than a year later

Historians aren't sure the traditional "Holy crap why won't he die" account of Rasputin's death is entirely true, so having him survive might not be ASB.

I imagine that if he survived, the conspirators would be screwed and his cult following would be bigger. (It would be much bigger if they really did give him the full poison-shoot-stab-bludgeon-drown-freeze treatment and he lived through it.) How much difference this would make, given that the revolution is coming… that's for you to decide.

well im not really asking about what i can do for my own ATL--ive pretty much already decided but may change it for plausibility--im just asking what could realistically happen if he had survived. would lenin have spared him? iirc, there's some thoughts that he had been working to discredit the romanovs rather than help them (my ATL just happens to make him a bit more righteous of a figure)

If the Revolution happens Rasputin is doomed, since he's easily tied to the evil Czarist regime.

I think during the first few years, being a court hanger-on was practically a death sentence all by itself. Rasputin would need to be able to prove, to the satisfaction of scary bastards like Lenin, Zinoviev and Latsis, that he was really the Romanovs' enemy all along.
