WI: Rasputin dies in 1914?

In June 1914, Rasputin was stabbed by Khionia Guseva in the abdomen but he survived and Guseva was sent to a madhouse. What if Rasputin died instead in this assassination attempt? I can foresee a mental breakdown from Alexandra, but what about the rest of the court?

Well at best it wont change much really the Romanov's were imperially screwed. Russia was poor, starving and exhausted, they were also tired of that families shinnaigans. At best a few less embarresing decisons but that is it really.

I think it could change a lot.

Russia had at least two centuries' baggage of serious problems dragging it down, but it took years of more and more disastrous participation in a World War to really blow the whole thing up. Anything that gives Russia even slightly more competent leadership and even slightly reduces the people's mistrust and alienation from government could have huge consequences. Even if the monarchy doesn't survive, it might last long enough to let the Russian Republic oversee the end of the war and take part in the peace talks.
