WI question, Dano-Holsteiner Helstat Nationalism

Regarding South West Africa - the Caprivi Strip (panhandle) was negotiated 1890 as part of the German - British Zanzibar/Heligoland deal. Here that may not be the case which lowers the African pop numbers in Danish SWA increasing that of South Rhodesia/Botwana. Thus Danish immigrants will make a slightly larger percentage.

Danish Army of 50000 would be over the top - I'd think 20000 max. Larger numbers would require mobilization of reserve and 2. line reserve battalions even with the addition of the Holstein-Lauenburg and Schleswig troops.
Interesting thing is that Denmark could have done all the Army and Navy wanted before the outbreak of 1864 but were barred from economically.
The main problem would still be breachloaders - because of fears of ammo consumption. Only 1864/66/70 proved otherwise in regards of infantry rifles. Problem with artillery being breaches not being gastight but Krupp solved that with always using a cut down shellcase to seal of the breach. Even the OTL rifled Danish artillery were way beyond smoothbores and would have served well.
Another path for infantry would have been the Rasmussen Revolver Rifle - another of my pet subjects - which also suffered from design problems which could have been eked out if the Army or Navy had shown an interest. The Norwegians went another way by cutting off (simplified!) the rear of their Remington rifles and inserting a breachlock. Of course not immediately easy operation by 1865 as wieved by today!

I don't think the Danes would be all that interested in going the German way. Nice to have a foothold in German Confederation but politically? Denmark relied on its ability it seems to counter any serious German threat by allying to some Great Power Russia or France or even Austria. Without an 1848-50 war they may have opted to keep doing so though still supply the Confederation X. corps of the 6000 Holstein-Lauenburg Brigade though keeping Kingdom troops out. Of course that may help in offering Bismarck an excuse for attack which with increased troops and Great Powers support may be foiled or perhaps paid off with Bismarck eventually getting his duchy!
The Straits had been important to the British since 1660 when they and the Dutch brokered the Dano-Swedish Peace treaty keep the parties to either side of the Øresund!
Question is would the Prussians really like to take on the Austrians by 1866 if they hadn't tested v. Roons new Army yet? Army service was unpopular in the Rhineland and they ended up mobilzing some 1/6 or such of the Army for operations during 1864! Taking on the Austrians early may have had serious repercussions such as Prussia having to rely much more on Allies like the Italians.
Bismarck would have find some other stuff to apply real-politik upon before taking on the Senior Partner in the German Confederation.
Which eventually may lead to the Man deciding upon kicking out the minor foreigner of the Confedereation only to get a bloody nose and then having to rethink his strategy! It would surely be interesting!!! :D

Keeping Helstaten is anyway a serious undertaking. ;)
