This is a bit of an obscure video game What If, depending upon when you stepped into the video gaming eras, but essentially, Quest for Glory V was the final game of the Quest for Glory series, published in 1998, with features dropped due to financial pressures. It was essentially a different genre from the rest of the series, and was not anywhere near as well received. (Possibly due to, among other reasons, the Coles being only consultants.)
So, let us posit instead that the tides of fate shifted, and that rather than being forced to wait five years and work on a game no longer in their control, the Coles were able to make and publish Quest for Glory V in 1995, using the same engine as IV, bringing back the same voice actors for Fenris and Erasmus, as well as using other quality voice actors for other characters. I cannot say how this would shift the story, not knowing enough about the production, but essentially in this What If the Coles have full control.
How would this affect video game history from 1995 forward? The Quest for Glory games were iconic among Sierra On-Lines adventure games, and were--and are--dear to my and many other people's hearts. I suspect that QfG V's early release could radically alter the timeline.
