WI: Princess Elizabeth of Clarence lives

i doubt most of you have heard of this person, so here's a link to the wikipedia page on her: link

anyway, while looking into some potential alternatives in the British royal line, i came across Elizabeth of Clarence, the daughter of William IV, who died after just about three months, (probably) from gastroesophageal junction.

anyway, what does everyone think would happen, in general, if she instead lived until about the turn of the century? keep in mind that her direct relation to William IV means that Victoria still lives, but doesn't become queen

Now that is a cool and unique POD. Well First of, if her father dies in schedule, then Queen Adelaide would become regent for a few months to a year. Second, with more far-reaching consequences, would be a husband. Being a born and raised Hanoverian (Queen Victoria was only born not raised by her paternal relatives) then she would probably marry a Hanoverian cousin, so either the Crown Prince of Hanover or the Prince of Cambridge. Hell her reign could be a continuation of her forebears, perhaps more Crown intervention in the Government, attempting to direct foreign policy, wielding the House of Lords as a threat to the commons. On a more architectural level, her Uncle George IV love building new thing, like the Royal Pavilion in Brighton, the restoration in Windsor Castle, Taring down and rebuilding Carlton House, so maybe we would see more, for lack of a better word, royal monuments. After all, unlike Victoria, I'm sure a surviving Elizabeth of Clarence would be allowed to be in the company of her uncle.

so she'd likely continue with the Hanoverian style of rule, and her reign would probably see additional monuments to the royal family. that actually works really well into the direction i want Britain to go in ITTL's grand scheme of things

what do you think of the architecture of the period? would it be at all different from OTL's Victorian styles?

To be honest I don't know much about architecture but I'll look into it. Also, looking at Elizabeth's family, her mother gave birth to stillborn twin boys so that would be a very cool POD.

Silly me, I read Elizabeth of Clarence and assumed she was a daughter of the Duke of Clarence whose name escapes me but was the older brother of the Duke of Gloucester--OTL's Richard III. I figured the answer to that what if would be easier. Gloucester forces himself as her regent and then her husband after he declared Edward IV's kids to be illegitimate. If he couldn't marry her, he probably would have declared her claim to the throne invalid based on Clarence's attainder. FWIW, I don't believe Richard III killed the Princes in the Tower.

Now, a daughter of William IV would go as already said. I could easily see her being married to the Crown Prince of Hanover in an attempt, whether deliberate or not, to keep Hanover and Britain united.

That would bring up the age old question: What happens to a united Germany with the British Crown controlling Hanover?

Well, not hugely problematic seeing as the German Kaiser and Austrian emperor had a number of British honors and titles until they were stripped of them during WW1 (not immediately though).

You could either have

1-Hannover not joining and becoming something akin to a British dominion

2-Germany making a deal whereby Hannover joins and the British reduce their role to a very titular minimalist role in Hannover

3-The British being forced/paid to nominate a cadet branch of their dynasty to the Hannoverian throne

4-Some `war of the hannoverian succession`
