Yes, I know that dynastic marriages were going out of fashion in his mother's day already, but I read of late that there was a consideration of this bona fide princess for Charles. Now, obviously, her Catholicism might present a problem, but by the 1970s/1980s when they'd marry would the British really object to it the same way they would've say 50-100years earlier?
AFAIK the only other princess ever considered for Charles was a Romanov princess, Olga Andreïevna. So obviously there was a shortage of eligible Protestant princesses.
So, besides sparing us the glorious mess that was the Charles-Diana marriage, might the marriage come off? Would it be successful? A tabloid fest like Charles' OTL marriage? And how might the British react to having a Bourbon/Catholic wife to the heir to the throne?
