WI Prince Alfred became King of Greece in 1862?

On the abdication of King Otto of Greece, in 1862, Prince Alfred second son of Queen Victoria of UK was chosen to succeed him by the Greek National Assembly, but the British government blocked plans for him to ascend the Greek throne due to fears that France and Russia would react violently in such a case.
WI British government defied French and Russian reactions and allowed Alfred to become King of Greece?
Howis this altering History? Any thoughts?

Well, IIRC, Otto wasn't well-liked by Greeks, so anyone but him would be good. The next question: was Alfred willing to convert to Orthodox Christianity?

Well in OTL he married an orthodox... Even if he didnt convert to Orthodoxy if his heir was brought up an orthodox it would be ok for Greeks...
The problem with Alfred being King of Greece would be that France and Russia would feel expelled from such a crucial area of Europe as the new King would be tied to UK...

Hmm, that is a delicate balancing act, then - especially because of the 1832 London Conference. Wiki even says that Queen Victoria disapproved (I wonder why, if not due to France and Russia).

I guess that if Alfred became King, Greece could actually get some stability. He probably also tries to get warm with France and Russia - especially the latter vis-à-vis the Orthodox Church, and probably does some of the same things that George I did in OTL - i.e., learning Greek (even with an accent, I'm assuming), walking about the streets of Athens, et cetera. Then again, I would assume that Alfred could probably do some things a bit differently, precisely because of his popularity.

Which leaves me wondering - in OTL, when did Greece industrialize? Was it during the Junta, or earlier? If earlier, could be possible that in TTL Greece's "Industrial Revolution" happen during Alfred's reign?

If Alfred still marries Marie (daughter of Czar Alexander II) as per OTL Russia would be ok with his accesion... That leaves only France to complain about Alfred... Could this cause hostility and friction between UK and France 40 years after their last conflict?

Hmm, say if something like the Greek Constitution of 1864 was drafted in TTL, but relied on French models (as much as British models), including a Greek adaptation of the Napoleonic Code. Could that help a bit?

I think the main reason why Prince Alfred didnt get it was because of the Treaty guaranteeing Greek independence; the great power signatories stated that none of their own royals/nobles of their explicit nationality could ascend to the Greek Throne. Thats why they ended up with a German. Amend the treaty, and you may get Prince Alfred, or even an installed Russian.

In 1833 before Otto the Crown was offered to Prince Leopold who declined it but after that he became King of Belgium... If the treaties remain unaltered could the crown be offered to his second son Prince Philip of Flandre?
