WI Prince Albert Kamehameha did not die young?

Well, I've rather recently become obsessed with the Kingdom of Hawai'i, and I was wondering, what do you, the esteemeed members of this Board, think would happen if Prince Albert Kamehameha did not die at the age of four? Would he keep the 1852 Constitution? Would he be able to strengthen Hawai'i's international position, etc.?

Well, I think its rather hard to say. I'm very familiar with Hawaiian history and a lot more has to do with the situation around Prince Albert.

The most important thing will be that his father King Kamehameha IV may live a lot longer. It appears to be quite common for members of the Kamehameha Dynasty to have died in their late 40s.

Queen Emma could serve as Regent until, say, 1872 when Albert becomes 18. In such a regency you could see Emma attempting to more closely allign Hawaii with Britain.

The best pairing to most likely produce a stable monarchy would be Lunalilo being allowed to marry Princess Victoria Kamamalu.
