Daniel Webster was a man, not of the common man, but the rich man. As Robert Remini said "He was a thorough elitist and reveled in it". However, he was a powerful orator and in the forefront of American politics, almost leading the opposition to Jacksonian democracy. However, he stayed content(ish) in Congress, but what if he went bigger? What if Daniel Webster ran for president and, probably running on a campaign of American nationalism, won the Oval Office?
