WI: President Andrew Mellon, 1929-1933

Hoover never runs and Mellon throws his hat in the ring, saying that the prosperity was his doing because he was Treasury secretary. He wins. How does the Mellon presidency go?

Anyway, Mellon wouldn't get the nomination. Too old and no real base. There's enough other good candidates that the party would feel no need to fall to him. It's like the Democrats nominating Alan Greenspan. Yes, he was responsible for the economic boom but that doesn't mean the party wants him as President.
