WI Post 1947 - A Marxist India, A Democratic China

Above is the flag of the Communist Party Of India, which holds power in 3 states there today. How would the world change if since independence India was the marxist state and China (PRC) was the democracy. India is the world's largest democracy, with half the world's population who live under a democracy living there, it's also set to outpopulate The PRC shortly. My understanding is that at independence and throughout his rule Nehru was non-aligned more so than anything else.
Under a democratic dispensation could PRC have survived as a unitary state at all? It's population couldn't be as restricted to the 1 child policy for sure.
Under communist rule would India and Pakistan have divided and what would have become ultimately of Bangladesh.
Would a Marxist India have fallen out with A Stallinist USSR as PRC did?
would the dominoe theory in Asia have been in play at all?
Would we have had a nuclear war?
Would the Brits feel honour bound to stick their snouts in?
Could India become a dominant sports power? Imagine a marxist state good at cricket and field hockey and much more?
Could India have client states? As China did in N.Korea and Albania?
India is often regarded as the biggest English speaking nation, Imagine a large English speaking marxist state.
Any possibility trotskyism would dominate Stallinism here or that you could have a uniquely Indian form of communism?
IOTL there was as per usual a big split in the Indian Communist party.
They have had support in Keraela sorry about the mispelling which has a large Christian population, as far as I know?
What happens to Hinduism and Hindu nationalism under a marxist India?
Finally How can Such an India and such a China come about?
Surely also a free market system would appear in this new India before IOTL 1979 PRC.
Oh and what of Nepal, Tibet (the Dalai Lama and Tibetan Budhism) and Buthan?

Have the British refuse independence in 1947, leading to a brutal insurgency in India. When India finally gets Independence in 1960s, the damage has been done. And a Marxist "liberation" goverment gets rid of everything British, including parliamentarism.

India Wasn't Marxist Though And What of a Democratic PRC?

India was officially non alligned and from what I gather never communist, no collectivisation no gulags no cultural revolution, no religious oppression officially, no restrictions on movement, a caste system, no bamboo/iron curtain. Possibly client states though, Buthan, Nepal and what of the relationship to Bangladesh?
China as a democracy how can this come about? Maybe a nationalist victory imn the civil war? Surely it massively changes the world from OTL?

Socialist India, Totalitarian China

Even though they were considered non-aligned they did lean towards the Soviet sphere more due to the situation with the PRC who supported Pakistan warming up to the US in reaction to Soviet affairs in Southeast Asia. This drift eventually culminated in the [url-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indo-Soviet_Treaty_of_Friendship_and_Cooperation]Indo-Soviet Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation.[/url] India has a long history of socialism in their independence movement from the austerity preached by Ghandi to the political affiliation and aims issued by their first PM Nehru.

The definition of a Chinese "democracy" within the late 19th and early 20th century seems to be which ever party managed to gain enough popularity fulfill the mandate of "unifying China" while squashing the closest opposition while leaving others as a token minority. The proof of the RoC's reluctance over time to run a bona fide republic lay with their refusal to allow the CCP on the ballot and subsequent 40 year rule in "exile" of Taiwan under martial law until protests and US pressure eventually leading them to commence open elections.
