WI: Politics of an Independent Quebec

Ok, so this has been bugging me for some time and want to know everybody's thoughts on this.

Lets say Quebec becomes fully indenpendent of Canada. The Native American areas remain part of Canada.

What are the political parties? Does the PQ remain, or faction? What about the ADP and Liberals? Who do you think would be the Prime Ministers and party leaders?

I have to know why the people of Quebec decided that being independent in Canada was worse than being independent of Canada before I can figure how the eleven aboriginal regions of Quebec can be a part of Canada while remaining in Quebec. Considering that the first Canadians were Canadiens, it seems quite rambunctious to up and leave. Not very economical either, what with government contracts and all. Who gets Air Canada? Does Quebec keep the Van Doos and the rest of Canada gets the RCR and the PPCLI? Who gets the Combat engineers? What happens to poutine? Celine?

Quebec has a ridiculous amount of debt at all levels of government. If they become their own polity (assuming the Canadian government doesn't keel over and give in to all of Quebec's demands) that's going to be a pretty big issue as they won't be able to get help from the rest of Canada.

I see three major factions developing in an independent Quebec.

Pro-Confederation: Self explanatory, left wing voters who believe in a softer variant of Quebec Nationalism that fits within a Canadian context. They want another referendum to authorize negotiations to rejoin Canada. This group provided it's adequately led spans the entire political spectrum.

Pro-Independence Social Democrats:Fiscally and social liberals.

Pro-Independence Conservatives: Fiscally conservative socially liberal, this vote is potentially split with a party that is both fiscally and socially conservative.

An independent Quebec is just not feasible IMHO, as a state there are too many problems and too many demands that aren't going to be met by the Canadian government.
