In 1985, George Lucas was strongly considering selling computer company Pixar to General Motors, who were interested in the functions computer animation could be used in auto-manufacturing. The deal was worth an estimated $30 Million and months of negotiations occurred. However GM shareholder/board member, and later presidential candidate, Ross Perot was disdained by previous acquisitions by GM and insulted the rest of the board over the possible deal. What if Perot had no objections? There would be major ramifications for the international film industry. There would probably be no PIXAR films due to GM not being interested in making cartoons, and thus no DreamWorks Animation as a result with Katzenberg's departure over Toy Story being butterflied away. Who then becomes the pioneers in all CGI-films? And what becomes of Disney without Ed Catmull and John Lasseter as executives decades later?
