WI Pinochet is extradited to Spain?

Former dictator of Chile Augusto Pinochet was held under house arrest in the UK by a warrant issued by Spanish judge Baltazar Garzón. After several months, he was released on grounds of ill health and allowed to return to his home country.

Is it possible for him to be extradited to Spain instead? If so, would he actually stand trial or would he just be released again?

Could this have consequences in similar cases in the future?

The elephant in this particular room is the assistance that the Chilean government gave to the United Kingdom during the South Atlantic War of 1982. Had the British authorities extradited General Pinochet to Spain, I suspect that a great deal of information about this considerable program of aid and comfort would have been released.

And that means nothing, at least some justice would be done.
