What if Peyton Manning was better in the playoffs, and never gained the “choker” label like IOTL?
Is not the QB, Colts defense sucked till 2004-2007 and later on the same, the few things peyton got a functional D he reached the superbowlWhat if Peyton Manning was better in the playoffs, and never gained the “choker” label like IOTL?

And he was, anyone but peyton, the colts would have been sub 500 and might have leave indy.A good, stable QB in the playoffs can carry a team (ex. Elway from 1986-1996, Donovan McNabb in the 2000s, etc., to some extent Eli in 2011)
Well, IIRC Manning retired with a higher Post Season Rating than Brady and more YPG as well. All we really need here are a few playoff games results going differently to change the narrative.
If Manning leads a comeback in 2003 to beat the Patriots in the playoffs (say the Colts get those PI calls they complained about) that knocks Brady out of a Super Bowl and gives Manning a chance to win one the Colts might have been favored in. If Manning beats the Panthers two weeks later and we assume the rest of their careers play out the same, that would mean Manning retires with three Super Bowl Championships, which would be the same as Brady at the time. Consequently, he probably wouldn’t be called a choker.
A problem with this though is that a minor change to the draft order one year probably creates an unrecognizable NFL by the time Manning retires.
I think the pats have destroyed what we think as sucess, have Archie never have childrens, pats might be 11/13 in superbowls(their losses? either to eagles 17 or either seahawks team), that is why peyton is called choker. Is just Bellichick and brady have been so good with so less and less flashy moves(sans randy moss)And he was, anyone but peyton, the colts would have been sub 500 and might have leave indy.

Did you read my post? that is the point, Peyton put them as perrenial contenders...just because they loss in playoffs(some legit outcoach to some poorly timed interceptions) is partly only his fault, seriouly. Have brady broke his leg in michigan we would not have this discussionExactly. A QB has the power to carry the team, and, while Peyton Manning is my favorite player ever, he didn’t exactly have a great record when it comes to carrying his teams through the playoffs.

Give him better defense via drafting or free agency, that way he don't have to climb massive leads or loss those easily, the rest i can see him in 03 or 04 superbowls or both, alongside 2006 and 2009 otl ones, another would be he never injury his neck, 2011 or 2014 are possible with colts tooThe question is what if he had greater success in the playoffs. The key word is greater success. Yes, two Super Bowls is a good accomplishment, but I’m asking what if he was better than he already is. The question isn’t Brady breaking his leg, that’s for another thread.
This, all of this,as say before pats screwed to us what we think as sucess, i would wish the cards got a QB as good as Manning both pre and post 2011The issue was never Peyton, it's that the Colts never really gave him any proper backup. Kinda like with Andrew Luck, they tossed their QB in the deep end and expect them to carry the team. Which is why the second Manning was out for a season, the Colts went from a Super Bowl contender to losing every game afterward.
For comparison, in four seasons with the Denver Broncos, a team that built a great team around him, he made the Super Bowl twice, won once, and barely missed out on a third Bowl appearance with that incredible OT playoff game versus the Ravens. He did that AFTER a nearly career-ending injury, and still, put up some of the best numbers of his career. As a Broncos fan, what could we have done with him had Denver gotten him five years earlier?
That's been the biggest difference between Manning and Brady to be frank - the Patriots could lose Brady and they'd still win 75% of their games. The Colts lose Manning, and it's the end of their season. You switch them, and a Manning-led Pats is likely in every Super Bowl for more than a decade, while Brady is another talented QB who is lucky to make the playoffs, ala Andrew Luck.
You want Manning to do well in the playoffs, get him on a team that doesn't expect him to drag the team to the Super Bowl himself, kicking and screaming.
Mostly insecure fan pats but i agree, still this is a place for alternate history and teach us more about the games and how beat myths around it.If this was posted on virtually any NFL forum I frequent, it would just be people screaming “You can’t change history” and “Brady won those games and Manning didn’t and that’s what counts”.

As say before insecure fansI find it's much better to post Sports-based WIs on this board, partially because frankly, well, only a few people really give a crap, and those who do put time and effort into their answers, and will actually listen to each scenario as opposed to just going all caps and saying "BRADY IS JESUS, HE COULD WIN WITH A SPONGE AS HEAD COACH" or, with baseball, "LOU GEHRIG WOULD NEVER STRIKE OUT AGAIN ", or things along those lines. (I'm not exaggerating, that's what some of these discussions feel like on other boards and in other circles)
