WI/PC: Ex South American colonies help Republicans against Fascists in Spanish Civil War?

What if, in the Spanish Civil War, Republican leaders make overtures to their ex South American colonies for help in fighting the Fascists?

I was thinking of the ex colonies sending a fair whack of troops to swamp Franco's forces, backed up with enough pilots (and aircraft if they can get them) to clear the skies of the Legion Condor and enough munitions and supplies to keep them and the Spanish Republican forces in theatre?

Would the exe's be up for sending troops to Spain?

Would there be enough logistics (ships) to transfer these forces either by Spain or the exe's?, if not would nations such as the UK help ship these forces across the Atlantic?

What effect would the extra air assets be on the Legion Condor?

Would the Fascists nations get more deeply involved or just accept the inevitable defeat of Franco's forces?

Regards filers

I'd read that the UK, the U.S., and other European countries would not sell the Republicans weapons . . . even though they had the money.

Didn't the Mexicans send troops to support the republican cause?

I'm not sure if Latin America would have the naval capacity to launch an attempt to invade their Spanish brethren.

Even if they did somehow get say I dunno 500,000 to a million men over there Latin American armies are infamous for their poor quality, inept leadership, and poor armaments.

Maybe say if Chile, or Venuzuela maybe Mexico got enough men there they could serve as rifle fodder buying the republicans time.

Mexico sold weapons (guns, machine guns, ammo, hand grenades, AA guns, mortars and grenades for them) to the Republic and France, pretending to be selling planes to Mexico, ended up sending them to the Spanish Republic in August 1936 (30 bombers, 15 fighters and 10 training/recce planes).

With the international embargo against the Republic and the reluctance of France and the United Kingdom to sell them weapons, I doubt that any help from the former colonies would have mattered.

And to do something more that sending weapons, that is, a direct, intervention, you would need a sizeable navy to counter the Rebel one, that would be acting from its bases in Spain. All in all, almost an ASB issue.
