WI the paris commune was more sucessful, OTL there was the chance to better defend paris but it didnt happen
What I mean by more sucessful is that is sucessfully manages to defend paris against the french millitaryWell, it depends how much more successful you are thinking... if you mean enough to take over France, I don't think that is likely at all. However, if the Commune had been able to hold out longer, this would have had implications for Thiers and his government, since the Commune would be seen as an alternative, legitimate government.

Maybe the army is just slower to react ITTL?Oh, that'd be interesting... although it's hard to see how they could do so,as in the long run they would run out of supplies. Wouldn't they?
