WI: Paris Commune Succeeds

Let's say the French Republic was more inept in ruling the country and by the time the Paris Commune comes about there is more dissent than in OTL. When they revolt it quickly spirals out of control and soon after the Third Republic is toppled. What happens next?

I swear we have this topic come up every few months. Where to start. First off, the Commune came about shortly after the signing of the Treaty of Frankfurt, when the Third Republic wasn't even a year old, so no chance of a massive popular uprising across the country yet. Second, the Commune had little support outside Paris. Yes other communes sprang up in various cities but all were quickly put down by the army and generally seemed to have little backing from the populace. Third, the Commune had no support in the army, which as France's history proved was key to any revolutionary regime.

To put it bluntly the Paris Commune was screwed the day it was created, it just didn't know it.
