The Panzer VII Löwe (Lion) was a super heavy tank design by Krupp that was dropped in March 1942 in favour of the highly unrealistic Panzer VIII Maus. Let's assume the Leichter Löwe variant was actually developed further, giving Germany a tank with a 105 mm gun by 1944-ish (a greater calibre than any other tank gun except the 122 mm on the IS-2). Germany won't be able to build this tank in numbers and it obviously won't win the war for Germany, but how would this tank perform on the battlefield? Would it lengthen the war at all? How would it influence post-war tank designs?
