WI: Ottokar instead of Rudolf 1273

Ottokar is strong enough to be potentially too powerful (to the other lords). And he seems like someone who, if Emperor, would use that.

A fear expressed by the electors OTL who passed him over in favor of someone else (Rudolph of Habsburg) who seemed much less threatening.
If Ottokar is elected, I think many other powers (even some within the HRE) might ally with Hungary as a counterweight. Which Rudolph did OTL to offset Ottokar's power.
There will be blood.

Yeah. Anyone's guess who will win - not everyone is going to hate him (Ottokar), but he's in a position that is likely to cause the people whose support would mean something to fear him getting stronger.

If he's elected at all, obviously some people are willing to support him even so - but that doesn't stop this from being a civil war waiting for a spark.

In fact if Ottokar acts too aggressively only in favour of his own house, then the (at least the majority) will elect an Anti-King. So Ottokar will need to prove he has the entire Empire's interest in mind, not just his own.
