WI - Other Great Powers have islands in the Aegean Sea

So, I was researching the First Balkan War and I noticed something very interesting about the Treaty of London.
  • The Ottoman Empire ceded Crete, while it was left to the Great Powers to determine the fate of the other islands in the Aegean Sea.
In OTL, the vast majority of these islands were given to Greece. What if the larger Great Powers [Germany, France, the United Kingdom, etc] decided to take some of these islands for themselves? Which ones might they take?

Britan would be interested in the more southerly islands to add to there Mediterranean travel/ defense like Malta and cypress if they took anything (which I don't know if they would). If Germany was able to get anything it would probably be the north or east islands and they would either use them as basing or sell them off for diplomatic favor with the Bulgarians, Greeks ottomans or Russians (which is what Russia would want the most if they were involved). France would probably not care but if the did take a slice they would probably be fine with anything with a pre France for the southern islands that likely gets sidestepped by the British.

That's interesting, were any of the specific island commercially valuable?

It would be less about commercialization, and more about the fact that fortifying the Aegean would be the next logical step if a hostile power, such as Russia, took control of Constantinople and the Bosphorus. Though I suppose having a military base would be a economic boost to a small island's economy.
