WI: Osman II beats the Janissaries

Osman II was pretty young, but recognized the growing problem of the Janissary corps. His intention was to create an ethnic-based national army but he was killed in a Janissary uprising aided by the various officials (most likely an in effort to save their own lives and/or restore order) in 1622 when he was 18. The challenge is to find a way to achieve an *Auspicious Incident 200 years early, either full on from the beginning or more gradually with the eventual replacement of the janissaries by ethnic turkic peoples.

Bonus Points for a successful Constitutional Monarchy before the end of the 19th Century.

Huh? Circassians? Why would I mean that.

Turkic Peoples and Turkmen

The Wikipedia article on Osman is not very good, which is about par for the course on anything Ottoman. The idea of an ethnic army is totally alien to the Ottoman mind-set - there is no way this would ever have occurred to Osman. Also, I'm not sure what an "Egyptian Turk" is, or a "Mesopotamian Turk". I think what is meant is that he probably wanted to abandon the Janissaries and start a normal army of Muslim subjects rather than depend on a self-perpetuating class of praetorians.

Ridwan Asher referred to Circassians because this was a common recruiting ground for Muslim dynasties. The Mamelukes, for instance, were largely Circassian.
