On November 1970, the Portuguese Army, aided with Guinean opponents, made an amphibious attack on Conakry, the capital of Guinea, in order to capture Amílcar Cabral, leader of the PAIGC, and overthrow Ahmed Sékou Touré, the then-dictatorial ruler of Gambia, who sheltered the PAIGC.

Although they managed to free Portuguese POWs and inmates of the Boiro camp, they failed at both objectives, causing a radicalisation and purges in the Guinean government and an UN condemnation of Portugal.

So, what if the invaders managed to kill.capture Cabral and/or Sékou Touré?

Would the Carnation Revolution still occurs?

How would the new Guinean direction rule the place?
