For those who didn't know, the Olimpiada Popular was an anti-fascist Olympic Games conceived to counter the Olympics being held in Germany 1936. It was to take place in Barcelona and have 6000 athletes from 22 countries, including political exiles from Italy and Germany, but the military coup followed by the general strike that lead to the Civil War prevented the games from taking place.
